Goals
- To provide continuing education programs on Technical Services Subjects
- To facilitate exchange of ideas among those with day-to-day Technical Services responsibilities
- To incorporate new technology in the Technical Services workflow
- To acknowledge an outstanding individual in Technical Services with our TSIG Award of Achievement
- To contribute to the overall success of the California Library Association
Member Communication
Members of TSIG are invited to join the TSIG e-mail listserv and TSIG message board. These tools provide a forum for librarians, support staff and others interested in technical services, to explore and discuss interests and concerns affecting the operation of technical services activities in California libraries. Members can discuss issues reflecting the broad range of activities of acquisitions, cataloging and preservation.
TSIG New Leader Award
Sponsored by TSIG, this new award was presented for the first time at CLA's Annual Conference in San Jose to "future cataloger" Michael Smith. The 2009 TSIG New Leader Award winner was Sarah Buchanan who has been an active TSIG Board member.
